Custom-written ceremonies

In some locations it is perfectly legal for a family member or other acquaintance to perform your ceremony without being formally ordained or a Sworn Officer of the Court.

Always check with local authorities ahead of time to assure the legality of
your ceremony and officiant's credentials .

Have you been asked to officiate a family member or friend's wedding?  This page is for you.

So your best friend and his/her intended have just asked you to officiate at their wedding, commitment ceremony or vow renewal ceremony.  Congratulations!  What an honor!  Now what??  What do you say?  What do you need to do?  How does this all work exactly?

No worries.  I'm here for you.  I'm a professionally trained, formally ordained interfaith minister.  I can guide you through the process, from start to finish as well as create the actual ceremony that will be memorable and personalized for your dear friends or family members.

For a flat fee of $150 (plus tax) I will:
  • Investigate local requirements on your behalf regarding your ability to perform the ceremony legally and at the location chosen;
  • Work with the couple and/or you to create and write a personalized ceremony about them and their love story;
  • Provide you with information regarding how to perform specific traditions included in the ceremony such as unity candles, sand ceremonies, hand fasting, tree plantings, etc.;
  • Provide you with directions on how to lead the wedding rehearsal; and
  • Provide guidance on how to file the legal paperwork following the ceremony.

Please note that although you may be legally able to perform a ceremony, that does not guarantee that the couple's union is going to be accepted within all spiritual communities.  It is your responsibility to let the couple know this in the event they may later choose to join a church, temple or synagogue, baptize or confirm a child in a particular faith, etc.   It is possible they may be required to go through another ceremony at that time to have their union recognized.  Also, you will not be able to spiritually bless their union in the same way that a formally ordained minister can since the minister has received the spiritual authority to do so by a laying on of hands and seal of oil during a formal ceremony.

Consider this the perfect wedding gift to give your friend!

HELP ME DO THIS
Hi Ronnie,
Got the ceremony, thank you so much! It is clear that you do this for a living...very well written. I appreciate the help! Also, the picture of the colored ropes really helps. Weird how the seeing the different colors can make a difference...especially for the learner .
Thank you again for your participation, contributions, guidance and blessings to my brother and new sister in law. We are truly grateful for your help making the day official and heartfelt from your words. Honestly. I'm sure you hear it all of the time, but it doesn't make it any less genuine. THANK YOU. God bless
