Have you decided to have a destination wedding?
Destination weddings pose some unique challenges! Wherever you wish to tie the knot, you should make sure you're familiar with the laws and requirements at your destination, as well as whether they will transfer legally back to your home when you return. There are also special rules and regulations applying to weddings performed in international waters.
How to navigate all of this? Make sure your wedding officiant is professionally trained and formally ordained, first and foremost. You want to assure your marriage will be both legally and spiritually accepted, wherever you go. A true professional knows how to help you research everything ahead of time to assure this. |
You may want to consider having two ceremonies. One that's local assures the legality and allows for more of your friends and family to attend, and one at your destination. Some couples choose to marry elsewhere in a more intimate ceremony and then have a large reception closer to home afterward.
I am certainly available to travel wherever you'd like to tie the knot, renew your vows or have a commitment ceremony and have an updated passport. My credentials have already been filed and registered in other parts of the United States. Because I'm formally ordained and have a formal letter of assignment to a brick-and-mortar temple, my credentials are accepted almost worldwide.
