Vow Renewals
Many couples find themselves wanting to renew their commitment to each other after a life-altering event or on milestone occasions, such as an anniversary or immediately following the wedding of a child or someone else special in their lives. Perhaps one or both of you has found a religious path now and wants to reflect that in your commitment to each other after having had a civil ceremony previously.
Planning a vow renewal ceremony can be as small or elaborate as you'd like, involving many of the same elements of a wedding if you choose. Or in the alternative, a vow renewal can be as personal, intimate and small as you'd like - it's totally up to the two of you. How religious you want the ceremony to be is also up to you.
A seminary-trained, fully ordained minister can walk you through the planning of your ceremony and help you to put into words what you feel in your hearts and want to say to each other. In the event your union has not been blessed before, the minister can also do this at that time.

Commitment Ceremonies
Simply call me or click on the link below and let's make it happen! When two hearts find each other, there is a depth of commitment that often wants to be made. However, Life sometimes can be messy.
Health Reasons
Perhaps you married someone when you were young. You took a vow to love, honor and cherish, in sickness and in health, until death parted you. You meant it. You still mean it, but Life happened, and your partner is no longer able to recognize you due to an illness or injury. You probably don't live together any longer, as your partner may be in a nursing home or other care facility.
Your commitment to your first partner is still important to you, and perhaps you maintain health insurance, pay medical bills for your spouse's care, or for some other reason wish to maintain your legal connection even though the sacramental nature of your relationship has long faded.
Along comes someone who makes your heart sing again! You feel alive and want to tell the world how you feel about this person, and want to be with them for the rest of your days. But you take your vow to your first partner very seriously, and want to take care of them now that they're sick.
A vow commitment ceremony is not legally binding, but does hold spiritual significance. There is no marriage license or certificate involved, but the ceremony can be as significant and elaborate, or as personal and intimate as you'd like. I'm happy to talk with you more about this and to help you find love and peace in your heart again. Simply call me or click on the link below and let's make it happen!
Legal Reasons
Unfortunately there may be legal reasons why you are unable to commit to each other, such as your state or country does not allow you to be legally married due to your sexual orientation. I believe that Love is Love, and should be celebrated in all its forms! I'm happy to join you together spiritually, either at Basswood Chalet & Guesthouse in New Auburn, Wisconsin or at another location of your choosing, including out of state or the country.
A vow commitment ceremony has no legal ramifications since no marriage license is applied for and no marriage certificate is issued. It does not necessarily guarantee you will have the ability to receive health benefits or any other benefits afforded to a legal partner in any jurisdiction.
What a vow commitment ceremony can do is to let your partner and whomever you wish to include know how you feel about this person, and to join your hearts together in a deeply meaningful and spiritual way. As a fully ordained interfaith minister, I am happy to spiritually bless your union as well.
