Weddings & Other Ceremonies Because each ceremony can be very unique, it's difficult to give a "one price fits all". For instance, are you interested in premarital education? Will we have a rehearsal? Will your ceremony be local or would you like me to travel out of my area? Will we be using a traditional ceremony from your religion or will I be writing a ceremony to reflect your personal beliefs? The following is for planning purposes only. Simple Civil Ceremony, Performed by Me
Fee: $200
Includes a short, simple civil ceremony for a smaller gathering, license signing and filing in the Eau Claire or New Auburn area, or at Basswood Chalet & Guesthouse in New Auburn, Wisconsin. Ceremony is focused on love rather than any particular spiritual path. No rehearsal is included, and ceremony is not custom-written.
Custom-written Ceremony, Performed by Me (Most Requested)
Fee: Starting at $300
Includes:
I invest several hours getting to know you, what you want your ceremony to be like, and writing your ceremony way before actually leading your rehearsal or performing your ceremony. I send it to you ahead of time so you have a chance to add or make any changes you'd like as well. While others may be less expensive, the education, experience and level of professionalism I bring to the table is worth the investment you'll make. You'll love hearing all the compliments from family and friends about your ceremony and how personal and meaningful it was!
Mileage, overnight travel, complex ceremonies including celebrating communion, meetings with other officiants, multiple meetings with friends and family members to create the ceremony if requested, premarital education, etc. may increase the fee.
While it is customary to invite the wedding officiant to stay for dinner at your rehearsal and reception dinner, especially if asking the officiant to say grace at these meals, it is completely at your discretion. The best way to handle this is to discuss this with your officiant ahead of time and to send or hand-deliver a formal invitation if extending this courtesy.

Are you truly committed to giving your relationship the best possible chance of success? If so, this package is for you. It includes:
Custom-written Ceremony Coaching Package, Performed by Someone Else
Fee: $275
In some locations it's legal for someone who is not professionally trained and physically ordained to perform your ceremony. Perhaps you have a family member you'd like to marry you but they've never officiated before. I can work with you and that person to create your personalized ceremony, and they can still perform it. In doing so, you can rest assured that your ceremony will contain all the elements necessary to be recognized as legal by governmental entities. Your onsite officiant will be the one who directs your rehearsal, signs your marriage certificate and files any paperwork on your behalf in addition to any other duties requiring a physical presence such as blessings given at your rehearsal dinner or reception. I coach them through every part of their duties, and provide them with a script pre-approved by you. Please see additional information on my Custom-written Ceremonies page.
Elopements

My husband and I own Basswood Chalet & Guesthouse, an elegant Old World European chalet-style home available for small, intimate ceremonies situated on almost 10 acres in the Blue Diamond resort area of New Auburn, Wisconsin. You can find us on the north side of Lower Long Lake, just east of New Auburn, Wisconsin.
Inside the chalet is a 22 foot river rock fireplace, lots of warm woods, leather, fur and crystal chandeliers. The Chalet comfortably holds approximately 30 inside, and licensed caterers are welcome to warm, assemble and serve in the formal dining area and living room.
Outdoor ceremonies are available on the balcony of the chalet or nestled in the woods and marshlands surrounding the chalet and guesthouse. Guest lists up to 125 are welcome outdoors.
Also located on the almost-10 acres of woods and marshland is a private guesthouse nestled in the trees that's perfect for a quiet honeymoon away from civilization. Pre-Marital Education (10 sessions $500)
Statistics demonstrate a 30% decrease in divorce rates after 5 years and increased marital satisfaction when couples complete pre-marital counseling. Some counseling programs are set up to identify specific topics you may currently disagree about. As a professionally trained mediator and arbitrator, I go beyond that. I focus on your conflict resolution styles and how to resolve conflict WHEN it arises - not identifying where it may arise. These are done virtually.
$500 for 10 sessions when retained to perform your ceremony and at the time of booking. Relate Assessment fee is additional and paid directly to the Relate Foundation (currently $40 per couple).
We'll discuss things such as intentional marriage; conditional vs. unconditional love; the seasons of your lives and how to move through them; conflict resolution and communication styles; roles and expectations; outside influences and how to insulate from them; forgiveness; and I share secrets I've learned from couples who've been happily married for a minimum of 25 years or more. Additional sessions are available if desired.
MN Pre-Marital Education guidelines for a discounted marriage license require 12 hours of education, a premarital inventory to be completed by the couple prior to application for the marriage license, and a notarized statement from the clergy verifying completion. As a result, I cannot offer the same rate for premarital education in that state. My fee for Minnesota premarital education is $550. Relate Assessment fee is additional and paid directly to the Relate Foundation (currently $40 per couple).

$50 per one hour session.
Consider a regular marital check-up to assure your foundation stays strong and your relationship continues to grow and deepen with emotional intimacy, dedication and commitment. Much like having an annual physical, a marital check-up assures you catch the little things before they become bigger, and assures your relationship stays healthy for many years to come. When difficulties do arise, marital discussions with a trained mediator can help you work through those difficult times without doing irreparable damage to your relationship and the very foundation of your lives together.
Mediation/Arbitration
$200 per hour.
Time includes preparation to review any materials ahead of time, and to draft any documents reflecting agreements or decisions reached. The fee is usually split evenly between the parties unless otherwise agreed.
